The initial appointment usually takes 40 minutes to an hour. Please bring the following information to your appointment if applicable:
A list of your current medications, including dosages.
A list of past psychiatric medications that you have been prescribed.
A list of medical problems you have and treatments you have received.
Follow up Appointment:
Follow-up appointments are 15 to 45 minutes long depending on clinical need.
Rescheduling and Cancellations:
The usual professional fee will be charged for missed or cancelled appointments unless a 24-hour (one day) notice is given. This fee will be due at the beginning of your next scheduled appointment.
Fees for Services:
You are responsible for the payment of professional fees at the beginning of each appointment including the initial consultation. Depending on your insurance company, my office might be able to bill your insurance company directly. If it is not possible, you will be provided with a receipt and instructions on how to submit your claim to your insurance company for reimbursement.
If your insurance company refuses to pay for the services provided, you are responsible for the full amount of the claim.
All professional fees may be paid via cash, check, or credit card.
Messages may be left on my phone at any time. I make every effort to answer calls within 24 hours, but if you did not get a response after 24 hours, feel free to leave another message.
If there is a true life threatening emergency, please call 911 and request assistance. You can also call Emergency Psychiatric Services at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital at (805) 569-8339 for help 24 hours a day. If you can wait for my call back, please call my office and state in your message that it is an urgent call, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
